Configuration of Nokia 9300/9500

1. Open the communicator and select Tools from the Desk page.
2. Select Control panel.
3. Under the Control panel tab, scroll down to open Connections.
4. Select Internet setup.
5. Select New.
6. You will see a prompt :”Do you want to create a copy of existing Internet access point?” Select No.
7. Select Next.
8. Under Internet setup page, key in the following: (Use the navigation pad to move up and down, left or right to configure)
9. Internet settings name: MTNL_GPRS
10. Network ID: Internet
11. Internet settings type: GPRS
12. Select Next and key in the following:
13. GPRS access point name:
For Postpaid enter gprsmtnlmum
For Prepaid enter gprsppsmum
14. Password prompt: No
15. User name: mtnl
16. Password: mtnl123
17. Select Next. You will be prompt with a message :”Internet setup has finished. Press Finish to store the settings, Cancel to discard them or Advanced to edit.
18. Select Advanced from the options at the right side of the screen.
19. Key in the following under the IP configuration tab:
20. Network type: IPv4
21. Auto retrieve IP: Yes
22. IP address: leave it blank
23. Auto retrieve DNS: Yes
24. Leave Primary DNS and Secondary DNS blank.
25. IPv6 DNS mode: Well known
26. Leave Primary IPv6 DNS and Secondary IPv6 DNS blank.
27. Key in the following under the Proxies tab:
28. Proxy protocol: HTTP
29. Use proxy server: yes
30. Enter Proxy server 172.16.39.10
Port number 9401
and No proxy for blank.
31. Key in the following under the Other tab:
32. Allow plain text login: Yes
33. Select Done to save the settings.
34. Select Done twice to go back to Connections.
35. To start surfing the Internet, simply open ‘Nokia.com’ from the Desk page to launch the browser.
